Leading the Way for Liberty!

March 25, 2012

Fellow Fairfax Republicans:

I write to thank everybody who supported me during the campaign for Chairman of the FCRC, which concluded yesterday with Jay McConville’s victory, and to congratulate Jay.

I’m enormously grateful to everybody who supported my vision for the future of our party. You did everything I asked you do, and without your efforts – providing financial support, making phone calls, hosting events, attending events, offering advice, and simply encouraging me to run — my campaign would not have been possible.

And I congratulate Jay for running a strong and effective campaign.  He is a first-rate campaigner, a worthy and formidable opponent, and his victory is well-deserved.

I look forward to working with Jay and all of you as we move forward to victory in November and beyond.

Thank you again for your support.

Most sincerely,

Matt Ames

Thank you to everybody who filed as a delegate to attend the March 24 County Convention. Your participation is vital to the success of our party and our form of government.

The purpose of my campaign is to fundamentally change Fairfax politics. We must defeat Barack Obama in November if we are to preserve individual initiative, personal responsibility, and true liberty in America. But we must also think and plan ahead. We have just a few short years in which to take charge of events in Fairfax County – just a few years before the voting patterns of the last decade become unbreakable and Democratic control of Fairfax politics becomes permanent. If we do not act now, we will lose the future before it even arrives.

I have a plan – described on this website – to ensure that the Fairfax GOP remains competitive well into the future.

If you have any questions about my platform, please email me at Matt@amesforchairman.com. I would be honored to have your vote on March 24.

I look forward to seeing you at the convention.

Most sincerely –

Matt Ames

Fellow Fairfax Republicans:

Fairfax County is the key to Republican success in Virginia, and Virginia must return to its conservative tradition if our party is to succeed nationally: Fairfax must lead the way for liberty. To assure that success, the Fairfax County Republican Committee needs a long-term strategy, continuity of leadership, and a strong organization.

After years of experience as an Army officer, lawyer, and community volunteer, I have the skills needed to build and lead a successful grassroots organization, and I have a record of proven leadership within the FCRC. I also have a plan for achieving lasting success at the ballot box, and I ask for your support in the race for FCRC Chairman.

As Providence District Chairman, I built a strong grassroots organization capable of winning elections in a Democrat-dominated district. In 2009, I played a key role in electing Patty Reed to the School Board, the first time a Republican had ever been elected to that position from Providence District.

In 2010, recognizing my organizational talents and proven record, FCRC Chairman Anthony Bedell appointed me Vice Chairman of Operations for the FCRC, overseeing the operational activities of all nine magisterial districts. As Operations Chairman, I instituted new training programs for precinct captains and key volunteers, improved FCRC’s operational planning, and strengthened coordination between the FCRC and individual campaigns throughout the 2010 and 2011 campaigns.

Based on my intimate knowledge of our strengths and weaknesses, I have developed a plan for long-term success. This plan for sustained victory consists of:

Please review my proposals carefully. I welcome your own suggestions for strengthening our party, and would be honored to have your vote.

Sincerely,

Matt Ames
